Ripe Shiraz grapes were hand harvested and destemmed into small open fermenters. The grapes were hand macerated and pressed to a mix of new French and American oak barriques. The wine spent 10 months in barrel before bottling. Black pepper, blackberries and cinnamon spice on the palate. Very full bodied with flavours of black cherries, dusty oak, white pepper and coffee-like complexity.
“Huge peppery, smoked meat, sausage, garrigue, licorice root, black cherry, menthol aromas. Round, dry, smooth, fresh palate with black cherry, smoky, meaty, peppery, savoury, leather, five spice flavours. Fine length and concentration with just a hint of elevated acidity in the finish.”
