Glimmer of Hope is a joint venture between Kangarilla Road and Icon Fine Wine and Spirits. Kevin O’Brian has crafted this Shiraz from the best grapes sourced from long-term growers in the region, and has blended it carefully with some select parcels of McLaren Vale fruit.

Glimmer of Hope overdelivers with ripe fruit aromas and richly layered flavours of ripe cherries, red berries and plums with a hint of spice on the long and lingering finish.

2008 Johnny Q Shiraz

Shiraz

The grapes were picked between 13.5 to 14.0 Baume to produce the fruit flavours that are required to make this a great wine. The grapes were fermented to produce as much colour and flavour as possible. A portion of this wine was barrel fermented and blended with the remaining wine to produce the right balance and structure.

This wine is an intense red with purple hues. The bouquet is youthful ripe berry flavours with well integrated vanilla oak. On the palate, full bodied dense ripe berry fruit flavours with vanillian oak finish long and smooth.

2Up Shiraz is handcrafted from a blend of grapes specifically selected by Kevin O’Brien from Kangarilla Road fame. The skilled craftsmanship in both the vineyard and winery results in a medium bodied wine that shows bright aromas and flavors of blackberries, spicy stewed plums and dark cherries with a subtle hint of chocolate, beautifully integrated oak and a long lingering finish.

2008 Shot In The Dark Shiraz Petite Sirah

85% Shiraz & 15% Petite Sirah

Shot in the Dark is crafted from a blend of grapes from vineyards carefully selected by John Quarisa. The grapes were fermented to produce as much colour and flavour as possible. A portion of this wine was barrel fermented and then blended with the remaining wine to produce the right balance and structure.

2009 Kangarilla Road Shiraz

The major percentage of this wine is from the McLaren Flat vineyards. These vineyards located at the northern part of the foothills ripen later, resulting in “cooler climate” spicy aromatic dark berry driven wines with intense mid to back palate presence and an abundance of soft velvety tannins. The second component is sourced from both the Blewitt Springs and Seaview areas where soils range from mostly deep sands to red earth on limestone. The final component is from a vineyard in the Sellicks sub-region which is very close to the sea.

“Strong purple; an aromatic bouquet of black fruits, spice and licorice sets the framework for the palate, with the addition of a hint of dark chocolate and some interesting savoury notes.”

The Shiraz from Langhorne Creek contributes to the colour and signature blackberry and spice, while the Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards from McLaren Vale provide the depth and texture to the wine. Fermentation is in submerged cap and static open fermenters. The wine is aged in French and American oak for 12 months. This is the definitive Southern Australian red wine blend (Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon) from an award-winning winery.

This stainless steel fermented rosé made from the bleedings of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The Pink Freud brand in conjunction with the Freudian Sip, has been pleasing wine consumers and aficionados since its inception in 2005.

This attractive rosé wine is balanced with intense aromatics of raspberries, red licorice and cranberries, followed by a concentrated plum, cranberry and cherry palate. The mid-palate is round and juicy because of the residual sugar creating a slightly off-dry finish.
