Juniper, while being the key ingredient in gin, is only one of literally hundreds of other berries, herbs, roots and spices that can be used to make gin, and each different recipe will give it their own unique fingerprint of flavour. The rest of our recipe is made up of orange and lemon peel, coriander, liquorice, cinnamon, cassia and nutmeg, along with angelica and orris root.
The quest for perfection doesn’t stop there. While everyone else adds the necessary water to reach bottle strength and bottles their product there and then, Martin Miller’s gin goes on a 3000 mile round trip to Iceland and back. Why, you may ask? The purest, softest water on earth. The glacial waters on Iceland are unbelievably pure which give us not only the perfect canvas to show off the beautiful botanical flavours already in the spirit, but give a wonderful, soft, almost sweet mouthfeel to our finished product, and that makes the whole journey well worth while.
