This wine has a high proportion of Merlot which produces very soft and round wines. Brick red in colour, with spice and ripe berry fruits on the nose with plum, strawberry and vanilla flavours greet the palate.
The 2006 vintage is a silky and fleshy wine showing ripe fruit notes and spices; 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet and 5% Petit Verdot. The Chateau has been ranked among the Cru Bourgeois in the new classification of 2003.
The red is full bodied, round with a powerful profile and is of an exceptional 2005 Bordeaux. A blend of 54% Merlot, 28% Cabernet and 18% Cab Franc. Aged 12 months in French oak with 20% new. The palate bursts with red, ripe berry fruit with a hint of spice and well integrated oak.
Chateau Saint Dominique is produced on one of the largest estates in Puisseguin Saint Emilion., a few miles away from the famous church Saint Emilion. Taken over in 2001 by Rothschild family the estate has undertaken a large investment to modernize the cellar. Made up of 80% Merlot, the wines are showing the charm and character of Saint Emilion. Dark crimson in colour with a powerful nose. Concentrated fruit that is round and full.
